The museum is right on the riverfront, along with an antique railroad depot and a long hiking/walking trail. There’s also a nice picnic area that you can use while enjoying a beautiful day!

4. Uncle Joe’s Trading Post
Go antiquing at Uncle Joe’s Trading Post. A very worthwhile stop for collectors.
The selection may not be as extensive as other facilities, but the high-quality locally produced goods keep customers coming back for more. You might find a unique treasure or two to bring home as a keepsake from your trip.
5. Fisherman Landing Park
Cast a line at Fisherman Landing Park. Anglers can go fishing at this picturesque park. There are plenty of prime fishing spots along the park’s piers and boardwalks.
There are also ample boat and canoe launch areas, covered pavilions, walking paths and picnic areas.
6. Sebastian Inlet Charters
Explore the waters at Sebastian Inlet Charters. Another fun option is taking a chartered tour of the Indian River Lagoon. You can fish and learn more about local history and landmarks during the trip.
Rentals and camping facilities are also available. Your tour guide will give you advice about the types of fish that you’ll find and the ideal times of day and bait that you can use to catch them.
7. Palm Bay Community Center
Work up a sweat at the Palm Bay Community Center. The center has plenty of activities for people ages six to sixty and beyond.
You can play basketball, swim, work out, take a fitness class or enjoy many other activities. There are also youth groups where children can partake in sports, field trip, arts and crafts, workshops and more.
8. Veterans Memorial Park
Visit Veterans Memorial Park. This Palm Bay attraction offers a nice mix of education and history.
The Veterans Memorial Museum is located in the park,. There is also a memorial garden in between the historic buildings and the park’s piers, paths and beaches.
9. Fun Town
Have fun at Fun Town. Located in nearby Melbourne, this attraction is the largest indoor family fun location in the county. You can stop for a bite to eat from their complete menu as your kids play video games, laser tags and enjoy many other activities.
There’s an indoor playground, bounce house, roller skating and even miniature bowling! It’s only 20 minutes from Malabar and can be rented out for birthday parties and other special events.
10. Laporte Farms
Take the kids to Laporte Farms. This attraction is open weekly Monday through Friday. Admission is free, although donations are appreciated. Your kids can spend time interacting with the many animals on site.
Goats, zebras, llamas, ducks, chickens, geese, pot-bellied pigs, marmoset monkeys, tropical birds and tortoises are just some of the animals you can expect to find while you’re there. The center is a great place for family get-togethers, company retreats, photo shoots, festivals, etc.
11. Andretti Thrill Park
Feel the need for speed at Andretti Thrill Park. Racing and go-kart enthusiasts can have the time of their lives at this Melbourne, Florida attraction.
There are five different go-kart tracks to race on.The park also has a 7,000+ square foot arcade, paddle boats, laser tag, train rides, a coaster and plenty of other enjoyable activities.
12. Camp Holly
Tour swampland at Camp Holly. Anyone wanting to learn more about the local swamp habitats should make a stop at Camp Holly in Melbourne. You can go on an airboat tour.
Count all of the birds, fish, snakes, turtles and alligators that you see along the way. You can also fish and hunt on their land or sit for a spell and listen to live music on the deck while you’re there.
13. Liberty Bell Memorial Museum
Appreciate America’s heritage at the Liberty Bell Memorial Museum. At this museum, you’ll not only see a life-sized replica of the historic Liberty Bell, but also reproductions of over two dozen important historical documents.
The Melbourne museum is free and open to the public. The museum’s Freedom Hall annex is home to models, artifacts and uniforms from several historic battles.
The best thing about all of these and many other great local attractions is that you don’t have to drive very far to get to them. Most of them are only an hour’s drive away or less.
